Extended Aftercare, Inc. is delighted to have our Alumni Association put on anther great recovery talent show and party. Scheduled for December 10, 2011, “Recovery’s Got Talent” will be an evening of fun, recovery and fellowship.
The Extended Aftercare Alumni Association BBQ Team, “Dead Meat,” will be cooking BBQ and serving food starting at 6:00 PM, which will give us plenty of time to connect with our brothers and sisters in recovery over great food before the 8:00 pm Speaker Meeting featuring Big Pat. If you have never heard of Big Pat, you have to come check him out. His message is LOUD and CLEAR and I have never laughed so hard in a twelve step meeting.
Following the speaker meeting, the Alumni Association will set up for the main event: the Talent Show and Party! Between 9:15 PM and 11:00 PM we are going to have all of our contestants perform with musical intermissions by DJ Stevie Ray of 90.9 KTSU (and a EAI Alumnus). All acts are welcome. Last year we had several singers, a couple rap/r&b performances, a rock band, piano player, impersonations, a couple poets, a gymnast, a monologue/ actor, and a juggler. There will be prizes for first, second and third place.
Extended Aftercare and the EAI Alumni Association would like to invite everyone in the Recovery Community to come out and enjoy the evening. The cost is minimal ($5 for BBQ and entry into the dance/show) and the money goes right back out to putting on more events!
