Cooperation for a Good Cause

For the past three years, Extended Aftercare, Inc. has been asked to provide our various sports facilities for a Spirit of Houston Conference fundraiser event. The Spirit of Houston is a annual Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) event with Al-Anon & Alateen participation in the Houston area.  The 27th annual Spirit of Houston Conference will be at the Sheraton Houston Brookhollow August 31st through September 2nd. The Spirit of Houston committee hosts events throughout the year for fun and fellowship and to raise money for the conference scholarship fund.

The event on Saturday, May 5, 2012 will be an Outdoor Fun Day complete with sporting events, speaker meetings, food and fellowship. Beginning at 10 am and lasting until 4 pm, the event looks like its going to be a huge success. EAI will offer support by providing our meeting hall, volunteers, and arranging the volleyball, basketball and volleyball events for the occasion. Many of Extended Aftercare’s alumni are involved with the Spirit of Houston Conference on various levels and look forward to helping out anyway they can.

After last year’s event, the Chairman of the Spirit of Houston Conference, David C. James, stated:

In the 13 years I have been affiliated with the Spirit of Houston, we have never had the level of support, assistance and encouragement from any host club, like we received from EAI. I cannot say enough about how impressed I am with EAI and the wonderful work [they] are doing in transforming hopeless, broken lives into beautiful, loving productive lives. Keep up the good work and may God continue to bless you in your endeavors.
